Through the largesse of Mr. Frank Filipek, the Friends of Polish Art is proud to announce five scholarships, each in the amount of $2,500. The scholarships will be awarded annually for academic studies in such areas including: law, medicine, architecture, engineering, sciences and the liberal arts with the exception of the fine arts. All awards will be payable to the individual and to the institution where the recipient is enrolled. These scholarships will be distributed in memory of the following individuals:
- Frank and Sophia Filipek
- Ted and Chester Wojdasik
- Joseph and Lillian Samul
- John and Pauline Filipek
- Lt. Col. Matt Urban
Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicant must be a U. S. Citizen and a resident of the State of Michigan.
- Applicant must be of Polish ancestry and/or a connection to the Polish Community.
- Applicant must be currently enrolled in a minimum of six(6) credit hours per semester in a college or university in pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Master degree or a matriculated High School senior who will graduate in the year the application is submitted.
- Applicant may apply for only one of the scholarships( Frank Filipek or Mitchell Fine Arts).
